The Finance Minister Tito Mboweni forwarded a letter to National Assembly Speaker Thandi Modise requesting a week’s delay of the Medium-Term Budget Policy Statement (MTBPS).

Although an answer was still being waited for until today Thursday 15th of October 2020. The Parliament has approved Finance Minister Tito Mboweni’s request to postpone the Mid-Term budget review to Wednesday 28 October according to  National Assembly’s programming committee.

The Finance Minister has requested the date to be moved from Wednesday because of the government’s economic recovery plan which has not been chaired yet and its impact on the budget process.

Tito Mboweni also cited recent complex decisions by the cabinet regarding adjusted estimates for the current financial year.
