I am one of the people who have long cried for Spotify family in South Africa for a mere reason that its cheaper than paying single-user accounts for everyone in the family.
Spotify South Africa has launched Spotify Family that can be used by up to 6 members under one beautiful R100 per month subscription.
According to a statement, Spotify Premium Family is now available in South Africa, providing family members living under one roof up to six Premium accounts for a bundled rate of R99.99.
Since Spotify was launched in South Africa a few years back, the company has been trying by all means necessary to introduce new content frequently with the exception of different subscription packages which in a way limited its user base.
Spotify Premium Family works the same way Netflix Family works for those familiar with it. The subscription means one payment for 6 different individual accounts for people who stay at the same address hence being called family. Just like Netflix, individual accounts are on their own meaning your music preferences are saved separately.
What’s different from the existing Spotify besides many accounts?
- Parental Control: Set explicit content filters for your family members on Premium, so you’re always in charge of what they can – and what they can’t – hear.
- Family Mix: A family personalized Mix curated from what each individual account listens to.
