According to a report by Bloomberg, the new device will have to variations, including a premium version with leather-like fabrics and a fitness-focused model that uses lighter, breathable materials with small perforations, the people said.

Considering how much of a high-end product this will be, its closest competitor will be Bose’s Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 among others in the same category. It is also important to note that if the competitor’s versions are within $350-$400 range, the Apple versions might be priced within the same range or maybe even more expensive which what Apple is known for.

Bloomberg says that Apple has been working on the high-end tech since 2018 as has had long plans to have their own Apple-branded over-ear headphones instead of the beats branded which they bought for $3 Billion a few years ago.

Apple is planning to unveil the headphones later this year, but the ongoing coronavirus pandemic could complicate launch timing.
